Illusion

Some stand right in front of me yet I seem unable to reach out & touch them.

When I try they have a tendency to disappear into some void of existence.

I don’t know where they go or even why honestly. Do they even like me?

Perhaps I’ll sit over here in the corner & find good reason to punish myself.

At least then I can lose myself on my terms.

Wait…

Why lose myself given I have the power to shift beyond the illusion?
