Searching for the Real
Updated: Aug 7, 2022
We can waste our life pretending. Or we can breathe life into the real. Who are we at our very core? What are we about?
Who is that other person… like really… underneath the surface?
Have they embraced their soul growth, or are they currently fixated on surface level stuff? Do they move through life like a puppet or a robot? Do they even realise that this is what they are doing? Do they perhaps find themselves stuck within their own circumstances? Is their energy focused on power, pride and controlling the outcome?
It takes great strength and courage to go on a search for our self - and stand comfortably within our truth. People become judgy. When we feel judged, we might feel drawn to return to that safe space… inside that box.
Be mindful of seeking stability through compromise. If a person is required to continuously adjust their boundaries in order to stay within a relationship, is their foundation strong, or is it weak? There should be reciprocity within the compromise.
Do we need to tear another persons fort down… and steal blocks from it to build our own? If we do, might those underlying intentions be offered back to us in karma at some point?
These days I am mindful of how close I get to those who are fake. They are the ones who mess with my head. They are the ones who steal blocks from my fort.
It can feel bittersweet when we are forced to adjust to stay in a relationship. We might do it through love for the other. We might do it thinking that one day they might change. Maybe at some subconscious level we seek to control how the story plays out.
But what about today? And what about love for ourselves?
My desire will always be to walk the road as laid out in front of me in some meaningful way. Those who are raw and real are the ones who inspire me. They are the ones who will shine a light on what I need to see. They might hurt me at times. Perhaps at times my hurt will be fuelled through assumptions… but at least I am willing to look at my own assumptions.
I tend to observe how people show up in those many moments. Are they raw and real? Or do they fear leaning into a lived experience?
It is more than okay for a person to shine a light on my darkness. Sometimes I see beauty within parts of my darkness and I’ll carry this darkness forwards with me for just a while. We sometimes need to feel through and gain an understanding for our darkness, to be more present within our light.
We are all made up of both dark and light. In a sense one might say I am leaning more into one than the other. The truth is that I walk in both my dark and my light every single day. We all do… some just pretend they are all light.
My aim will always be to show up in every moment just as raw and real as I know how. Sometimes you will see pieces of my darkness. Other times you will see pieces of my light.
Enjoy every moment of your true lived experience. That’s what I’m here to do. I will never aim to become some ascended enlightened master of the light. My divine nature is not wrapped up in my being all light. It is wrapped up within my dancing with my darkness and my light… and being afraid of neither. They are both part of me. I choose to no longer reject bits and pieces of myself. Been there, done that - doesn’t work.
I am all of me and I love all of me. Do you love all parts of yourself?
