28 Days of Gratitude – Day 13
Today I am truly grateful for music. Music has pulled me through some quite dark times ❤️
I keep wanting to use the dance emoji in everything today, haha… and so, I reflect on just how much I appreciate the blessing that is music. Music has kept me alive and made me feel alive.
Music has the potential to evoke certain emotions within us that we didn’t even know were there. It can help to empower and uplift us. It can take us on a journey through our emotions and either subtly or not so subtly help to heal our energetic body.
I’ve gone through moments when I’ve listened to some quite dark music. During these moments I feel a connection with the musician… the artist. It is almost like they drag me into the trenches with them. It helps me to feel not quite so alone.
And I’ll sing and dance with the music when nobodies looking.
Oh, to be that fly on the wall.
I don’t like to sing or dance in public. I kind of fear it in a way. I feel judged when I do it – yet I think many have felt that way. I find safety within the walls of my bedroom… where nobody is looking.
Just recently I received some Reiki Healing. There was music in the background. I could quite literally feel the music flowing through the healer’s hands. It wasn’t a conscious thing. Her hands subconsciously flowed with the rhythm of the music. It was honestly beautiful.
I personally lean into those songs where the emotions can be felt deeply. For example, I absolute love this cover of Stay (Rihanna) by Jared Leto. I can feel the depth of his emotions through his voice.
It feels like he’s living the song in that moment. It feels like he has somehow drawn me into his own little world.
Who is an artist or what is the song that evokes strong emotions within you? What songs do you absolutely love?
