The Power of The Mirror
Some people try to create a mirror of positivity out in the world, hoping to have this reflected right back to them. They try to set aside the realness and rawness of the moment, by covering the muck with sickly sweet frosting.
Toxic positivity quite honestly makes me want to vomit. I choose not to mirror it back.
Now let's look at the mirror we hold up to our own face every day, Are we willing to look into this mirror with honesty, then let ourselves know that we are absolutely perfect just as we are? At that point, we no longer need the frosting.
Once we realise that we don't need the frosting, we recognise that we don't need to cover everybody else's pain with frosting - but instead we learn to embrace the rawness and realness of others.
I choose self-care above all. Why? Because I have realised the power of that mirror I personally hold up to myself to look into. This is what keeps me in alignment with myself and my purpose. If I don't choose self-care, then I fail to see when people project their own insecurities onto me.
Too many of us question whether we are loving, patient, compassionate and kind enough to others in the world. We spend our lifetime looking to others; and analysing what we can personally do to give them a leg up.
The truth is that we can become so distracted on making a difference to others in this world, that we forget about ourselves.
I send you so many blessings on this Monday. May you have the most amazing week ever! May you see the power of your own mirror; and make some much needed adjustments where necessary.
The power of the mirror that you personally hold up for yourself... IS IT loving, patient, compassionate, kind; AND also honest? If not, why not?
