The Student

What many fail to realise is that the teacher shows up in many different forms.

So many of my teachers were experts at poking and prodding at my deep inner wounds.

We can point fingers all we want. I’m sure you agree there is truth in the words, “That person hurt me!”

But can we shift that pain if we spend a lifetime pointing fingers?

I am responsible for my healing. If I was to leave this to another, might I set them up for failure?

I have had a number of teachers who heavily tried to control me. The truth is, they were a mirror.

I had thought I wasn’t controlling, yet when I chose to consciously walk beside my ego I noticed a reflection.

Control. It exists in many forms. It can be as simple as staying silent.

Even when my teacher stood in front of me, many times I failed to recognise them as my teacher.

As the student I often only observed the lesson at the point I went within to gain an understanding of what is.

Once the student is truly ready they no longer need the teacher. A bond. Maintained or broken?

I am the student. I am the teacher. Forever learning. Forever growing.
